Saturday, January 26, 2008, 12 Noon to 3:30 PM, Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, DC
1. Jin Wang called the meeting.
2.The attendants discussed, revised, and finalized the CCADP Bylaws. Wei Chen made the motion to pass the Bylaws, seconded by Wei Zhao. The Bylaws was approved unanimously by a voice vote. The Bylaws will be sent to all the members shortly.
3. George Hong briefed the group on the “Action Plan” for the potential summer (June) lecture trip to China. The group decided to continue the discussion after the meeting with Minister Counselor, Dr. Shaozhong You, of the Office of Education, Chinese Embassy at DC.
4.Based on the newly approved Bylaws, Yueh-Ting Lee nominated Jin Wang as the President, Jin Kang Gong as the Vice President, and Wei Chen as the Secretary/ Treasurer of the Council. The motion was seconded by George Hong. The motion was approved unanimously by a voice vote.

5. President Wang reported the current status of the CCADP and our mission.
6. Counselor You briefed the group on the recent developments of Chinese education, both secondary and higher educations, as well as the past, present, and future of Sino-American collaboration in research and higher education.
7. Our group discussed the “Action Plan” with Counselor You and his staff. Potential topics of lectures and potential Partner(s) in China were discussed.
The discussions continued over the dinner.

Saturday, January 26, 2008, 9 to 10 PM, Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, DC, (all except Chao Lu attended)
8. The group continued the discussion on the “Action Plan” for the summer. The decision was made by the group to postpone the activity until after the summer of 2008, in order to further consider the objectives, mission, logistics, Chinese Partner(s), mechanisms, and venues of our lectures in China on behalf of the CCADP as an organization.
9.The group charged President Wang to take the following actions:
a. Registering the CCADP as a non-profit organization in the State of Florida
b.Establishing a website for the CCADP
c. Developing a CCADP brochure
d.Collecting member bios for the website.
Items b to d will be carried out with the help of Wei Chen and Wei Li.
10. Meeting adjourned.
