Our goal is to provide an environment to which there are no limits to creativity and exploration.
The Department of Engineering Technology experienced overall growth and progress in recent two years, as reported in the department Informational Data.
The department has been selected as one of 9 sites nationwide to
provide pre-college summer engineering program to 50 high school
students annually. Funding is from the Army Research Office
(ARO) and it is in the amount of $50,000.00 yearly.

Mr. Daniel Osakue and Mr. André Seals, students of Computer Engineering Technology program in Engineering Technology department, won the third prize of Undergraduate Active Vibration Control Competition. This activity was organized by ASCE Earth and Space 2010 conference which was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, from Mach 14 to March 17.Mr. Osakue and Mr. Seals were mentored by Dr. Xuemin Chen. Thanks to the National Science Foundation (NSF) grants which made the students trip possible.
Microsoft Scholarship winner from Texas Southern University Elvino Taylor! Elvino is a Computer Engineering Technology major and is involved in many student organizations including IEEE, NSBE, NSPE, and SAE. He is also working at Texas Southern University providing administrative support to the Chair of the Engineering Technology Department. Congratulations to Elvino Taylor!
