Welcome to the Department of Engineering Technology website.

I am pleased to have you visit our website. If you are a prospective student we invite you to explore the many exciting opportunities awaiting you in our undergraduate programs in civil engineering technology, computer engineering technology, and electronics engineering technology. Our goal is to provide an environment to which there are no limits to creativity and exploration. Though our courses are rigorous, students will experience fun as they progress further and further into the program. Our goal is to have ALL our students succeed in our programs.

The Department of Engineering Technologies experienced overall growth and progress in recent two years, as reported in the department Informational Data.

Pre-college Summer Program

 

The department has been selected as one of 8 sites nationwide to provide pre-college summer engineering program to 30 high school students annually. Funding is from the Army Research Office (ARO) and it is in the amount of $50,000.00 yearly.

ABET Accreditation

 

The Electronic Engineering Technology Program in the College of Science and Technology is in the re-accreditation process by the TAC of ABET

American Society of Indian Engineers (ASIE) Scholarship




It is available now for applying. All applications MUST be submitted to ASIE by September 19, 2008.

The Michael Agina Memorial Scholarship




In memory of Dr. Michael Agina, the Department of Engineering Technologies presents The Michael Agina Memorial Scholarship. It is available now for applying.
To apply, write a one-page letter of interest indicating your GPA, your major, T-number, name and expected date of graduation. Submit letter via email to Dr. Thomas at thomassg@tsu.edu.

Microsoft Scholarship Recipient 2008

Microsoft Scholarship winner from Texas Southern University – Elvino Taylor! Elvino is a Computer Engineering Technology major and is involved in many student organizations including IEEE, NSBE, NSPE, and SAE. He is also working at Texas Southern University providing administrative support to the Chair of the Engineering Technologies Department. Congratulations to Elvino Taylor!
